Everyone’s life is a story — the story of a journey through joy and sadness, winning and losing, beauty and ugliness, good health and illness, love and hate. The challenge is to navigate through life and remain the person you were meant to be, to embrace life with all its joys and problems, and to make it a source of goodness, love, beauty, and happiness for yourself and for others.
Life and its cultures are constantly changing. Each generation faces its challenges and has its own cultural uniqueness. To older people the future may seem frightening, but to the younger generation it is exciting and challenging. Each generation must embrace its own beauty, love, and goodness, accept its own challenges, and navigate through losses — all the while becoming a positive force for change.
I have chosen to tell my story through poetry. I have loved poetry all my life. It speaks to my heart and soul. It is to be hoped that my children, my grandchildren, and those to come will glean insight into who I was and will be encouraged to tell their own stories and to be their own sources for change.
Reflections is a book of poetry that reflects upon the authors life. Poetry has been her lifelong passion. Our lives are full of love, joy, pain, loss and remembrance. It is important that we embrace our lives to the fullest. That we find joy, love, life and significance in all aspects of our life. Life is a gift. Use it wisely.
